To Stub or Not to Stub?
Tuesday, April 28th, 2009If you use a fountain pen (or maybe a colonial quill pen), then you will probably like the retro coolness of top stub checks.
As the name implies, these custom checks have a perforated top edge, or stub, for you to record the details of your transaction. They are bound like a miniature spiral notebook – and one of the truly luxurious things about them is the choice of beautiful leather covers.
Most people are used to the flimsy vinyl check book covers and tear off checks with a paper register to record your checks. These work fine, and may even come free with your checking account. Sometimes though, it is nice to upgrade the little things in life.
So if you have a liking for a touch of Victorian lavishness, at a surprisingly low price, indulge in an order of checks and a reusable leather cover.
