Insurance Litigation In New York
I work as a paralegal in a firm that specializes in insurance litigation cases. I came across a lot of insurance litigation cases where insurance companies deny insurance claims because of “late” reporting of the loss by the policy holder. Many policy holders decry this practice by some insurance firms and many insurance litigation cases arise from this.
In this area of insurance litigation, a recent development in lawmaking holds promise for many policy holders. Just recently, a law that puts a stop to the denial of insurance claims on basis of the time of reporting of loss was signed. This law was signed by the Governor of New York.
With this development, New York policy holders are now protected. Many New Yorkers and litigation attorneys welcome this and hope that insurance companies will stop the aforementioned unscrupulous practice.
