Too Much Travel Gear

I hate to travel and I hate electronics so I have no idea why anyone would ever find something like flashpacking appealing.  I mean seriously, why you would want to travel along with all the trappings that most people traditionally leave at home.  Laptops, computers and cell phones, PDAs, and pocket calendars: these are the trappings of our working lives and the very parts of the daily grind that most people travel to forget.  Yet, these youngsters today, and even many other older individuals, travel the globe complete with a small fleet of electronic devices and all the accessories that accompany them from chargers to batteries to carry all cases and paper instructions.  I don’t know about you, but as far as I’m concerned there’s no better vacation than the kind where I don’t have to answer phone calls or think about the spelling in my last email.  For me, vacation or travel is all about the least amount of technology as possible.  I guess I’m just old fashioned.
